So who is CHEW HOONG LING? :)

Often referred to as the Mercedes Girl, she derived that nickname from the scar on her tummy (that resembled the logo of Mercedes), after donating part of her liver to 13 year girl who was dying of cancer. The irony of it is that she picked up this information about this child needing help, from a forwarded email. HOONG LING took a step many would not even think of...She responded to the email....And life has been extraordinary eversince...Born with her hearing partially impaired, she took no pity on herself and reached out to make a difference. 

She has been a regular face you would see on local television, newspapers and magazines. In 2008, Hoong Ling was awarded the "Great Women of Our Time Award (Education and Public Services)" amongst the other awards that has recognized her contribution.
